Friends of the Habersham County Animal Shelter, Inc. (FOHCAS)

Our organization was formed in 1998

We are a federal tax exempt charitable corporation concerned with the welfare of Habersham County's unwanted, stray and impounded animals

We are governed by a volunteer board and administered by a volunteer executive committee

We are regulated and licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture, Animal Protection Division

We are a member of the American Humane Association and the Humane Association of Georgia

FOHCAS is not a county agency or department, it is a separate entity. Habersham County operates animal control, FOHCAS is in charge of rescue efforts and humane education.
