In
order to assure the best match possible between adopter and
animal, we require prospective adopters to apply.
Adoptions at off-site locations outside Habersham County
will incur an extra $15.00 fee.
Approval may require a waiting period and
pre-adoption home visit. We reserve the right to decline any
adoption in the best interest of the animal or the prospective
adopter. Some individual animals and some breeds have special
needs. In these cases, pre- and post-adoption home visits
and a reference from a veterinarian may be among the requirements.
PLEASE NOTE:
Anyone found to have adopted and/or advertised to sell, or
sold, the animal, will be immediately placed on our
DO-NOT-ADOPT list and reported to the proper authorities. This list is shared among other
shelter and rescue organizations. Anyone found to have made
untrue statements or have misrepresented themselves on the
application may lose possession of the animal immediately.
